Shanen Wright, HHQI National Campaign Director: New Year, New Campaign

swrightThe new decade brings with it both an updated Home Health Quality Improvement (HHQI) National Campaign and a new guest blog series in the CHAMP Community that WVMI & Quality Insights is proud to pioneer with this posting.

Many of you were involved in the first HHQI National Campaign, which achieved an impressive 70% nationwide participation rate three years ago. This high level of involvement demonstrated the home health community’s commitment to quality improvement. In 2010, we encourage you to continue these efforts and join us for phase two of the campaign starting on January 13.

The campaign will feature updated Best Practice Intervention Packages (BPIPs), individualized HHQI data reports, and a wealth of multimedia materials aimed at improving quality as measured by ACH reduction and improvement in oral medication management. We are also working closely with CHAMP to launch MyHHQI, an online social network that will enable the sharing of participant best practices, success stories and lessons learned. Continue visiting the CHAMP Community frequently to learn more about this joint venture designed to foster communication between home health agencies, stakeholders and various health care settings.

This is just a glimpse of what you will find in the upcoming HHQI National Campaign. In 2010, we pledge to provide you with straightforward, insightful and effective quality improvement interventions. Please resolve to join us. We need your active participation to impact home health quality, and hope you will visit www.homehealthquality.org to learn more. Thank you for your consideration, and I wish you a very happy New Year.
